I have spent my professional career outside of music, but I have been composing music for more than 30 years – starting when I was in college. Basically self-taught, I studied music theory and compositional techniques on my own. Although I did take a couple of non-major music theory classes.
I am currently enrolled as a student at Concordia University, Irvine to take music composition classes. Since I plan to continue writing music, I wanted to get a better foundation and understanding of how to write better music. The string quartet, “T. Cotta Sonata”, is the first result of this effort.
